Chicken Chow Mein
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 packet of Yakisoba noodles. Open the packet, and dip the noodles on hot water and then drain the water. Add 1 tsp of soysauce and 1 tsp oil to avoid sticking
- 1 cup(s) thinly sliced vegetables (colorful bell pepper, carrots, cabbage, snap peas)
- ¼ cup(s) thinly sliced yellow/white onion
- 2 tbsp finely chopped garlic
- 1 tbsp finely chopped ginger
- 2 tbsp any neutral oil (vegetable/canola/avocado)
- ¼ cup(s) finely chopped chives/scallions/spring onions
- Salt as per taste ( all the sauces have sodium, so be low on the salt)
- Sauces
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp Oyster sauce or Hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp black vinegar or any vinegar
- 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
- 1 tsp chili sauce/paste (optional)
- 1 tsp black pepper powder
- 1 tsp black garlic (optional)
- 1 tsp sesame oil
DIRECTIONS:
- Take the wok on medium high flame and heat for 2/3 mins
- Add oil and immediately add onion, ginger, garlic and chives and stir it
- Add all the other vegetables, stir for 2/3 mins on a high flame – to retain the color and crispiness of the vegetables
- Add the noodles
- Add the sauce mix
- Stir it on a high flame to dry the sauce
- Sprinkle the salt
- Garnish with fresh herbs like cilantro, spring onions
